About Desert Dreamin'
Meet the Maker
Alexandra
I’m a silversmith with six years of experience, but more than that, I’m a storyteller—shaping silver into pieces that hold emotion, memory, and meaning. Jewelry-making began as a simple creative outlet and quickly became my passion and my peace. As someone living with lupus and an autoimmune disorder, I’ve come to treasure the moments when my hands are steady and my spirit feels free. Creating jewelry gives me an outlet—a way to express what words often can’t, and to transform pain into something lasting and beautiful.
Creativity doesn't stop at the jeweler’s bench. I’m also passionate about needlepoint, painting, and creating art on canvas. Whether I’m stitching a needlepoint project, bringing a new painting to life, or designing a piece of jewelry, I find joy in creating with my hands. Each medium allows me to tell a story in a different way, and each has become an important part of who I am as an artist. The past several years have brought challenges, loss, growth, and lessons I never expected to learn. Through it all, creating has been my constant—a place where I can process emotions, find peace, and reconnect with myself. Art has carried me through difficult seasons and reminded me that even after life's hardest moments, beauty can still emerge. For a while, I felt like I had lost pieces of myself along the way. But lately, through faith, creativity, family, and embracing new opportunities, I feel like I’m finally getting my sparkle back. I’m learning to find joy again, to celebrate small victories, and to trust that every season serves a purpose.
While my journey hasn’t always been easy, it has made me stronger, more grateful, and even more passionate about creating meaningful work. I’ve been married to my incredible husband for several years now, and together we share a home filled with love, laughter, animals, creativity, and more hobbies than I can count. He has been one of my greatest supporters, encouraging me through every chapter and cheering me on as I continue to grow as both an artist and a person.Whether I’m sketching a new design, working on a needlepoint canvas, painting, tending to my pets, or simply soaking in the quiet beauty of nature, I draw constant inspiration from the world around me. My work is deeply influenced by the spirit of the West—desert skies, rugged landscapes, wildflowers after the rain, and the untamed freedom that comes from living in beautiful Arizona.Every piece I create, whether in silver, thread, or paint, is made with intention and heart. My hope is that my work resonates with the bold, the free-spirited, and those who carry their stories proudly. I believe the things we wear and surround ourselves with can serve as reminders of who we are, where we've been, and the strength we've found along the way.Thank you for being here—for supporting handmade art, creativity in all its forms, and the dreamer behind it. Your support means more than you know. It allows me to continue creating, sharing my story, and hopefully inspiring others to keep moving forward, hold onto hope, and never lose their sparkle.
